Throwback thursday- january makeup purchases + reviews

i had planned to do collective monthly hauls since i do shop a lot but you guys tell me, would you rather constant mini hauls or monthly collective ones?  obviously i've had these products for a while so i figured why not throw in mini reviews.

formula 10.0.6 seriously shine free mattifying moisturizer and deep down detox ultra cleansing mud mask- moisturizer first, this is a rather thin moisturizer and it doesn't really have a scent. it's okay, it does help my makeup go on smoother as all moisturizer do for me. i couldn't tell a difference in my skin from using this product, though. i'll continue to use this but not repurchase. it was $7 and my mommy bought it so thank you mommy. and onto the mask, i've honestly only used this once so i don't have anything to say. i'm really bad abut using mask! it doesn't dry so if you prefer ones that stay soft you won't like this. you can't peel it off though, you wash it and it re-moistens. this was $6 and i purchased it from ulta with christmas gift cards.
pixi all over magic in brightening radiance and rose radiance- i purchased both of these off of hautelook which is a site that has flash sales so they aren't currently available there but you can watch for them because they'll be back eventually. they are also sold at target. i got both of these for around $7 but they retail for $24. i shelling out money for high end makeup but i would spend the $24 for these babies(not at the same time though!) i'm super picky with my highlighters but the brightening radiance is gorg. its a soft colors and it's reflective but not shimmery. the blush is gorgeous too. its a rose color as the name suggest and has the same brightening quality as the highlighter. both of these products awaken your face like no other cheek product ever has for me. i wouldn't wear these together though as it could be too much.
elf maximum coverage concealer- a repurchase in a lighter shade i ordered off of eyeslipsface.com. read my review on this here.
maybelline fit me powder- i didn't purchase this, my friend and i switched powders. this is in shade 115 which is the second lightest color. though i wear 110 in this foundation, 115 in the powder is intensely white. i can't review this as an all over face powder because i don't use it for that but it is an awesome matte highlight powder to contour with. i'll sweep over the areas of my face i don't contour to give it even more contrast and this powder is awesome for that. (do you guys want a contour/highlighting post?)

urban decay naked basics- i'm sure you've all seen this and read reviews, but basically the first shade is shimmery and the other 5 are matte. urban decay eye shadows have a wonderful formula and for the price, around 27 dollars, if you wear matte eye shadows a lot, it's definitely worth it. if you want one or two mattes, you can dupe these at the drugstore. i probably have dupes for all these in my collection. whats special is that they're all in one palette so i find my myself reaching for this over my others, not due to the colors being original, but for the convenience factor. i got this at ulta with some christmas giftcards.
elf essentials eyelid primer- i tried this $1 primer to avoid repurchasing urban decays primer potion again. i do like this and i think it's much better than not using a primer, but not quite up to urban decay par. i will finish this but i'll be buying another primer potion come summer time. you can purchase these on eyeslipsface.com
eos lipbalm in pomegranate raspberry- i just realized in got this for christmas, so kinda cheating, but these are my fav lipbalm and this new scent is nice. read more about it here.
revlon just bitten balm stain in smitten- i love the formula of these which you can read more about here. i love this color smitten though, it's definitely my most worn lip color since i've gotten it. i purchased this at ulta with gift cards for around $7.
maybelline color whisper in pin up peach- this is a really pretty subtle lip color. i don't reach for it a lot just because i far prefer a bold lip. it is pretty for a simple look though. the formula of these is nice but i'm not obsessed or anything. they smell like fruit loops and you can see it in action on me here. i purchased this at ulta with gift cards for around $5.
l'oreal color riche lipgloss in endless red- these are crazy pigmented and its definitely an intense red. i have mixed feelings about the formula because its a great color but it's hard to get a crisp line around the edges. if you want an intense glossy red, this is worth picking up. see it in action on me here. i got this at ulta with gift cards. for around $8.
maybelline color sensational vivid lipstick in vivd rose- i guess i should have taken the cap off of this so you could see it, but i'll feature it in another video. it's just a basic hot pink. i love the formula of maybelline lipstick which you can read about here. i'm not crazy about the color on me though so i haven't been wearing it. see it in action on me here in the pic with the crazy makeup. i got this at ulta with giftacrds for around $5.
pixi nail polish in luminous lilac- i ordered this off hautelook during the sale for around $4. you can purchase these online for $8 though. this is a slightly thinner consistency and will take you about 3 coats but i love the color and would pay the $8 for this!
l.a. colors nail polish remover pads- i find these at dollar tree but you can order them for $1.50 here. these are the polish removers i use and i love them.

hope this helped you guys & you try some of these out!

ootd- dinner with the fam

ya know how sometimes you throw on a really simple outfit, with nothing to special, and then it ends up magical? that's exactly what happened with this outfit. i'm a firm believer in never outfit repeating but every once in a while, an outfit is so special, that one wear just isn't enough. i wore this outfit to dinner with the family on saturday night, church sunday morning, and youth group at my friends' church sunday night. THREE WEARS. not even bothered. i may wear it again if i can think of some one who hasn't seen it yet.  by how much i loved it, and the number of compliments i got, i'd say this outfit was a success.

do you guys want a five minute all drugstore makeup tutorial on this look?

Throwback Thursday #1- thrifting haul

first up in the haul is this black pencil skirt that was originally from h&m which we don't actually have any of in my state. this fits absolutely perfect and is in great condition. it's obviously wrinkled because i tried these on as soon as i got home & took pictures in the outfit i was already wearing. it's black though it looks a little washed out here.

next up is this fabulous skirt that is like khaki material but is more of a medium grey brown color. it too fits perfectly and is in great condition. i'm not familiar with the brand of this one.
for some reason i don't have a front facing picture of this one, but look at this fabulous lavender skirt! it has pleats but then then come together at the bottom so it makes the skirt kind of full. it's from h&m too and i absolutely completely love this skirt.

when i found these shoes i kind of did a happy dance in goodwill. i love the leather detail and the crispness of the white. i think these are so much nicer than just white vans because those have a tendency to look like nurse shoes while these have a lot more detail. also, these are in perfect condition, like pristine white.
lastly i picked up this skirt to use the material in another project. i would totally wear it as a skirt but its too big & the materials a little weird but i think its super fun so i picked it up any way.

hope you enjoyed this haul, everything i got was 3-4 dollars which was such a score because like i've said i love love love it all. look for all these peices in upcoming OOTDs.
